We thought we would be getting a nice easy, gradual start on ministry in Osaka. But instead of spending about nine months researching, networking, and praying in preparation for the launch of the cell church, less than two months after our arrival we were thrust into leadership of a big church with a lot of complex issues. And we expected a few short-termers to help us kick off the cell church in the summer of 2003, but we didn't expect 36 of them! The list of unexpected things goes on, but in short, apparently the Lord knew that we would just get into trouble if we had any spare time! 
Seriously, though, it has been a joy to have so many opportunities for ministry. Please rejoice with us as you browse these pages, and pray for us that we can do these various activities faithfully, lovingly, and with discernment to know what needs doing and what doesn't, because although God won't ask us to do more than we can handle (with His help, of course), we might on our own jump into things that are beyond His plan.
